SAN DIEGO ELIMINATES ONTARIO IN M2 CUP PLAYOFF GAME WITH 11-7 WIN
Andy Lorei Scores Four Goals And One Assist To Lead The Sockers To The Final Four
Colorado Inferno To Host Sockers And M2 Cup Tournament On March 24 & 25 

SAN DIEGO (Saturday, March 10, 2018) - The San Diego Sockers 2 eliminated rival Ontario Fury II in the Major Arena Soccer League 2 Western Conference Semi-FInal with an 11-7 victory at Valley View Casino Center on Saturday afternoon. Forward Andy Lorei had four goals and one assist to lead San Diego to a Conference Final match against the #1 seed Colorado Inferno in Colorado Springs on Saturday, March 24, 6:00 p.m. PT.

Both teams were 7-5 coming into the contest and had split the season series 2-2, But San Diego had the home-field advantage by virtue of having a better goal differential. 

San Diego pulled away in the fourth quarter after a relatively tight opening forty-five minutes and the score 7-4 in favor of the hosts. The Sockers notched four goals within the first six minutes to put away Ontario. Chad Hagerty had a hat trick, while Edgar Aguilar, Rafael Aguilar, Jared Hegardt, and Ryan Cariss tallied single markers.

Goalkeeper Ramon Torres made 11 saves on 18 shots to earn the win. 

Eastern Conference teams who have punched their ticket into the playoffs are the Chicago Mustangs (1st), Cincinnati Swerve (2nd) and Colorado Blizzard (3rd). They will all play in the M2 Cup tournament on March 24 in Colorado Springs.
