Risers can guarantee playoff spot with win today; Barracudas host Fury for a pair
TAMPA, Fla. -- The Muskegon Risers run to the 2021-22 Major Arena Soccer League will come to a climax this weekend when they go on the road to finish their regular season while out west, the Barracudas and Fury will meet for a doubleheader in Texas.
Muskegon currently sits in second place in the Great Lakes Division, a half-game ahead of the Chicago Mustangs who finished their regular season with a 5-7 mark. The Risers come in 5-6, and would guarantee themselves a post-season spot simply by defeating the Cincinnati-based Swerve.
Kickoff is at 8 p.m. EST. Ticket and streaming information can be found HERE. The Risers are led by Miguel Flores who is tied for second overall in league scoring this year with 28 points. The Swerve's Abe Kanneh leads his club with seven goals.
RGV will kickoff Saturday night at 7 p.m. CST and again Sunday at 4:05 CDT against the Ontario Fury 2. RGV comes into the weekend 6-2 while the Fury are 4-5. Ticket and streaming information can be found HERE.
Mo Gueye leads the Fury offensive attack while RGV's leading scorers are Ivan Martinez and Marcelo Natale.
Colorado will host New Mexico in what shapes up to be a high-scoring affair. The Inferno are first in goals given up this season, while the Runners are tied for second in that category. Kickoff in Colorado Springs will be at 7 p.m. MST with ticket and streaming information found HERE.
With 19 goals and five assists, Francisco Rivas leads the Inferno offense, while Frolian Ramirez and Jacob Gandarilla led a balanced New Mexico attack with 18 points each.
