Iowa, Chihuahua will play for eighth Major Arena Soccer League title Sunday
DES MOINES, Iowa -- The last two champions in Major Arena Soccer League 2 action will battle for the 2024-25 title Sunday afternoon, April 6, at Buccaneer Arena in Des Moines.
The host Iowa Demon Hawks will be looking for their second straight championship, having defeated Rochester in the 2023-24 finals in Wichita. Chihuahua won the crown in 2022-23 when they toppled the Iowa Raptors at Mesquite Arena in Texas.
Sunday's championship game will start at 5 p.m. CDT, and will be broadcast live by the Iowa Champions League Network on You Tube. The Consolation finals will kick off at 2 p.m. with the Wichita Wings meeting Utica's United Elite Krajisnik.

The four teams got here after Chihuahua handed the Wichita Wings, 9-4. Iowa earned its right to defend its title by outscoring United Elite Krajisnik 13-11.
Wichita played the Savage pretty even over the final three quarters, but it was the first quarter that did them in as the Wings trailed 6-2 after the first 15 minutes.
Hector Tarango was the main reason the Savage raced to a big lead, as he scored three unanswered goals himself in the first.
The Wings got single goals from Kieran Laking, Erik Barragan, David Lucio and Taylor Henry. The Savage also got three goals from Jesus Fernando Penalver and a goal and one assist from Hector Tarango.
Iowa got into an offensive slugfest with Utica, and in the end had just a bit too much firepower., taking the win.
Jeanderson Pereira, scoring three goals and adding one assist. Luan Silva had two goals and Caio Ferreira also added a pair.
The Demon Hawks took the lead for good at 6-5 on a goal from Luan Silva midway through the second quarter. From that point on, Iowa's biggest lead was three goals, and United Elite cut the deficit to two goals on four different occasions, but never got any closer.
Victor Stasyuk led the way for United Elite with Two goals and teammate Mershad Ahmadi had one. Meny Silva scored twice.
