Inferno hoping to cool down Wichita's regular-season title drive this weekend

TAMPA, Fla. -- The Colorado Inferno will have the task of slowing the Wichita Wings roll to a regular-season Major Arena Soccer League 2 title when the two teams tangle for a pair in Colorado Springs this weekend.

The Wings can assure themselves of the first-seed for M2's "Championship Weekend" July 17 and 18 at Hartman Arena in Wichita with a sweep of the two games. The WIngs will be joined by the Cleveland Crunch, Amarillo Bombers and Chicago Mustangs for the league's post-season. All four seedings are still undecided, as Amarillo will host a pair of games July 9 and 11 to conclude the M2 regular season.

Colorado has the leading scorer in all of M2, however, in Franciso Rivas, who has 20 goals and eight assists in the Inferno's first 10 games.

Benji Monreal and David Lucio lead the wings with nine goals and seven assists each in Wichita's first eight games. MASL MVP Franck Tayou has 12 points in five games for the Wings after signing with them in mid-season.

Kickoff Saturday is at 7 p.m. Mountain Daylight Time, and 2 p.m. Sunday.
