Derezic delivers -- again! -- as Crunch douse Inferno, 9-2, to complete weekend sweep

NORTH OLMSTED, Ohio -- Someone in Major Arena Soccer League 2 is going to have to figure out how to stop Cleveland's Mike Derezic.

The Crunch completed a two-game home sweep of the Colorado Inferno Sunday, led by Derezic who notched his third hat-trick in as many games. And he made this one look easy, getting three goals before the game was 11 minutes old to thrill the Cleveland's second-straight standing-room-only crowd welcoming the team back to pro indoor soccer after a 20 year absence. He added a fourth goal shortly after halftime, and also added an assist.

The Crunch scored the first nine goals of the game, and the only suspense was whether or not Marijo Musa would post a rare indoor soccer shutout. Colorado got fourth quarter goals from Francisco Rivas and Ismael Morales to spoil Musa's whitewash bid, but he was still credited with his second win for the 2-0 Crunch. Colorado fell to 3-4 on the 2021 season.

Derezic started his torrid goal scoring string in late february in a 12-4 win over the Brew City Legends of Milwaukee in a pre-season "friendly." He had a five-point night overall (three goals, two assists) in Cleveland's 17-6 triumph over Colorado on Saturday.

The MetroHealth Man of the Match for the Crunch was Admir Suljevic who had a goal and four assists. Dave Jordan scored twice while Tom Beck and Ryan Minick also added goals for Cleveland, which is back in action on Saturday, April 3 when they travel to Muskegon to take on the Risers in a Great Lakes Invitational showdown.

Colorado will be back in action April 24 and 25 when they travel to Muskegon for back-to-back games in the GLI. For more information, visit m2soccer.com, or any of the team's websites or social media platforms.
