Springfield Demize To Join the Major Arena Soccer League 3

KANSAS CITY – (October 29, 2020) For 14 of the last 15 years the Springfield Demize has been competing in the Premier Arena Soccer league (PASL), the 4th division of indoor soccer, which included two seasons in the PASL Pro division as a provisional team. The 2020 National PASL champions have accepted promotion and are now stepping into the Major Arena Soccer League’s 3rd Division (M3) for the 2020-21 season.

Springfield’s history was culminated in 2020 with its first Midwest Division Championship and an undefeated PASL National championship in Cincinnati on October 11th, 2020.

The Demize are very excited to be a founding member of the Heartland Conference in the newly formed Major Arena Soccer League’s M3. The organization has been committed to developing the highest level of soccer at all ages and genders in Springfield, Missouri since 2003.

A key merger took place this past summer between the Demize Youth Academy and Sporting Springfield along with a subsequent developmental partnership with Sporting Springfield and the Demize senior teams. As a result, the Springfield Demize name and logo was reintroduced to showcase the direct relationship with the youth soccer program. This partnership includes access to the new state of the art sports complex that is under construction and sharing the foundation of the youth programs core values with the senior teams.

Last winter, a new partnership was created with the founder of the Demize, Chris Hanlon along with Scott and Meylin Hanson to not only bring the Demize into the M3, but also secure the rights to compete in the M2 as a fully professionalized team.  "Last February, the game against the Wichita Wings at Hartman arena was a litmus test for the Demize," stated Chris Hanlon. "It showcased with the right ownership group and facility we could bring professional indoor soccer to the Springfield soccer community."

Hanson’s children Justin and Brianna, have been a part of the Demize youth academy since 2016 when they relocated from Perth, Australia.  Meylin, a native of Peru has grown up steeped in a rich soccer culture, with her family owning both indoor and outdoor soccer facilities.  "As a part of the youth program for many years I saw the potential of the Demize.  We will now have the ability to create a direct pathway in Southwest Missouri from minor league soccer into the professional levels of indoor soccer. " Stated Meylin Hanson " I wanted our soccer community to have the same access and opportunities as those in the big cities like Dallas, Saint Louis and Chicago, here in Springfield, Missouri."

The team's head coach will be Guilherme Ferreira a native of Uberlandia, Brazil. Coach G brings an international coaching expertise in futsal where he spent time in England, Italy, and Brazil as a professional futsal coach. "His coaching style and passion for the game has helped to elevate the team on the field and the results speak for themselves with the club earning our first star by winning both the Midwest Division and PASL National championship." Says Chris Hanlon.

The Springfield Demize is excited to announce All Access Dental and Dentures, one of the top dentistry's in Missouri lead by Dr Arrash Ahmadnia, as the teams title sponsor and the Thompson Auto dealership as two local companies that support both youth and men's soccer.
