Championship weekend is here; Amarillo, Chihuahua, Iowa Raptors and Wichita seek M2 title

It's go time for the four Major Arena Soccer League 2 teams still alive for the 2022-23 championship, with the first of two semifinal games set to kick off at noon Friday at Mesquite Arena.

That matchup will pit the Chihuahua Savage II against the Wichita Wings, while the other semifinal set to go at 3 p.m. will feature the Amarillo Bombers against the Iowa Raptors.

Saturday's action will include the consolation game at 11:30 a.m. and the championship game at 2 p.m.

None of the four teams have won an M2 championship outright. Chihuahua was a perfect 12-0 in the 2019-20 season, and was declared the regular season champions, but the playoffs that spring were canceled because of the COVID outbreak.
