Adrian Ortiz unstoppable as Chicago Mustangs snap second-half tie to defeat Colorado Inferno, 11-7

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- In a word, Adrian Ortiz is proving to be unstoppable at the moment.

The Chicao Mustangs veteran -- he had 53 points in four indoor seasons with the Mustangs and Rochester Lancers -- banged in five goals to help Chicago break a 6-6 second-half tie en route to an 11-7 triumph over the Colorado Inferno Saturday  night.

His third goal of the night, coming with just under four minutes left in the third, snapped the tie and started a string of three straight Chicago goals, and five of the last six scored in the game.  Chicago outshot the hosts, 34-27.

The Inferno led only once, at 2-1 when Blas Roberts followed up on Colorado's first goal of the game by Robert Jacobs, who ended the night with the hat trick. Other Inferno scores came from Jack Reynolds and  Ismael Morales,

Chicago's goal scorers  in addition to Ortiz included Adrian Graffen with a pair and Leoo Acosta (goal and three assists) Alejandro Chavez, Daniel Delgado and Benjamin Suddeth.

Chicago (now 5-4) will be on the road May 22 to meet Cleveland in a game that will determine the third of four playoff spots for the M2 2021 season. That game is already sold out. The Inferno  (3-7)  will stay at home and host the Amarillo Bombers next Saturday.
